In order for courts to be able to determine what the child support will be they need access to complete information regarding several matters.
Some of these matters include: income of the parties, mental and physical health of the partes, lifestyle to which the child(ren) can be accustomed, etc. Another main factor when deciding child support is the time share that each parent has with the child(ren).
An unmarried mother may also file a petition for child support, and an order for support will be entered once paternity has been established.
The amount of child support will be based upon the needs of the child(ren) and both parent‘s monthly income.
